When it comes to #running, every month has its ups and down (and I’m not talking hills). Despite ANOTHER cold 🤧 (stupid germs) and a run in with gluten 🤢 (stupid #CoeliacDisease) I’ve not clocked-up as many KMs as intended (but happy nonetheless).

Took a bit of a social media break to process my new diagnoses without venting into the void. And I feel like I'm in a good place where I can accept my new reality easier.
I still have more medical tests and things to hopefully rule out as wrong with me but I feel like the news most impactful to my life has already arrived: #CeliacDisease and #Osteopenia

I have some more grieving to do because life is going to look very different than I thought it would, and I'm sure that going #GlutenFree will be frustrating and alienating for some time yet. But I am also very hopeful. That my broken bones will finally heal and I will feel much better after some time. I am so grateful for food options, for growing awareness, and to have words for what's been happening to me.

I always like to investigate Iron deficiency. It’s one of my pet peeves NOT investigating it or not having a known clear cause.
Coeliac disease is one of the most common autoimmune conditions and commonly causes iron deficiency. Worth thinking about ! #medmastodon #CoeliacDisease #CeliacDisease

#CoeliacDisease is actually one of the easiest dietary requirements to cater for, but there is so much miseducation around what does and does not contain gluten. The amount of times I've been told something contains gluten, asked to see the actual ingredients, then corrected restaurant staff is ridiculous.

The other incredibly frustrating thing is businesses who state that a product contains gluten, even when there is none listed in the ingredients. It's a ridiculous attempt to cover their asses legally, but all it does is confuse and frustrate people.

Instead of being lazy, learn what gluten actually is. If your product may contain traces due to cross contamination in the factory, SAY THAT. Don't just say it contains gluten because you're too lazy to check how much is actually present/detectable.

We live under capitalism. The least you could do is capitalism properly and realise that you're losing business unnecessarily.

In het Bauhaus te Sint-Niklaas is er terug vandaag de jaarlijkse Wintermarkt georganiseerd dr de Vlaamse Coeiliakievereniging. Glutenvrije producten van vlees tot pasta, v brood tot gebak,...a volanté. En ik speel er straks de enige en echte Sint. #glutenintolerant #coeliacdisease

Starting to think the younger daughter may have Coeliac’s. Weak positive result for anti TTG IgA. Not sure if weak positive means it could be negative or if it is like pregnancy and COVID - a weak positive is still positive. 🤷‍♀️ but I think it is endoscopy that would be next diagnostic tool. #fatigue #Coeliac #CoeliacDisease
