I’m having a hard time hearing first crack over the combined noise of my roaster and range hood so let’s look at percent weight loss.

This roast is at 11.11% loss which is definitely on the lighter side of things; possibly too light.

My previous roast was around 15% and it certainly tasted like a full city roast.

Had an interesting experience on my latest roast. First time roasting an Ethiopian bean and first time roasting a 2000 MASL bean, and after first crack wrapped up, the temperature started climbing like crazy and I've never seen that on my other roasts with a similar roasting profile. Pulled it in time and it still looks and smells good, but i definitely felt like i was gonna make it to the mythical 3rd crack (charcoal). #DIY #CoffeeRoasting
