Every workday morning I slowly come back to consciousness about 10 minutes before the alarm goes off. Every morning I think - Did the alarm already go off? Did I oversleep? Sometimes I look. When the alarm goes off, I turn it off (not snooze) and lay back down for about 10 minutes. I know. Pretty risky, right? Risk is my middle name.

I wonder if there is a tool to see what others instances an instance federates to.

Got up this morning and while drunking first coffee thought how many fediverses are actually out there. That is, a subset of instances federated among them but isolated from another subset of instances federated among them.

I’m a feral engineer.

In 25 years workin for the man I always had a manager, never had any management. Plenty of pay rises. Never had feedback, never had a one on one, never had goals, nor a growth plan. Almost never any kind of training or professional development. Never had a performance review. As they say, “star whales aren’t aware of vacuum”.

Five plus years after going to work for myself I realize I’m still feral. My manager (me) still does not do anything to nurture me, and I suffer for it still.

Yesterday, Congress showed the entire world that they truly do not care for their constituents, only what their Meta donors want them to care about.

I have a bit of a TikTok following. Currently I have just over 16k followers, have made lots of friends in the two years that I've been on the app, and feel like I am part of community of creators that speak out on behalf of marginalized groups and does good work spreading awareness and information.

I do not have a voice anywhere else. Everything just gets lost in a giant cacophony of other's thoughts and advertisements.

I can't go back to that. 😕
