Camus #Cognac has launched The Alexa Camus Golden Vines Scholarships to improve #inclusion of historically marginalised communities within the #Spirits industry.
5 scholars will be funded through WSET Spirits courses from level 1 to 3, before being welcomed by Camus for a 5-day, intensive immersion in Cognac, including the distillery, the vineyards, the cellars and the production.

I was talking to a brandy distiller who said he aged spirit in very large oak barrels — c. 10000L.
His aim was mini. wood contact and max. oxidation, all to boost the formation of rancio character as much as possible. Tiny amounts could be added to each blend to bring up the complexity.
He called this "beneficateur" but I've been unable to confirm this term (or indeed this practice) through googling.
Can anyone help?

Anyway, I just had my hot bath (as I usually do) sipping on a cognac (which I rarely do).
