Discovered Scotland

Coming back from St Abbs, we called into never visited Coldingham Priory, a delight. Another building burnt by Cromwell's men (they have a lot to answer for, much stioll visible). It was rebuilt and the original stonework (what remains) incorporated into the building which can be clearly seen inside (complete with scorch marks on the stone).When we visited it was host to a very lively mums (mainly but not exclusively) and toddlers session.

Coldingham Priory in the Scottish Borders. Work started on the priory in 1098. In 1430 it was partly burned down by its own prior, William Drax, in an attempt to conceal the theft of money in transit from Scotland to England.
