, 22 March 1982, around 250 women blockade the Greenham Common airbase in the UK preventing entry. 34 are arrested.

It was the first mass non-violent protest by the Greenham Common peace women. The peace camp was established in 1981 and lasted until 2000. Their aim was to stop the siting of US nuclear missiles in the UK.

Greenham airbase is now used as a film set.
