We decided on a nice, easy dive for a shake out and landed on Canoe Beach. We had been swimming for only a few minutes when I spotted a medium sized lumpfish! These are always a favorite of mine.

On this dive, we found pipefish, sculpin, a *tiny* rock gunnel, and an arctic lyre crab in full camo garb. The highlight was easily the juvenile boxfish!

I don't usually shoot wide angle, but that's what I was up to on this dive.Spotted some pipefish, lobsters, a huge cod deep under a rock, a juvenile/small radiated shanny, and a juvenile boxfish.

After brutal conditions on our last dive, we were very happy with 15 foot viz and only minor surge. I started out testing the 60mm + diopter on some sand shrimp and hermit crabs, eventually moving onto grubbies and a few zebra lebbid shrimp. The find of the day was the frosty white nudis my buddy spotted. They were on the move and stood out nicely on their red seaweed backdrop.

This was dive #2 with the 14-42mm kit lens + diopter, so I knew what I was in for this time around. It was kind of quiet underwater, but we did manage to find a single Tenelia veridis, some cooperative sand shrimp, some grubbies, but the real highlight of the dive was a quarter-sized scallop. They are so neat to look at with all those eyes looking out at you.

These dives were in August 2022. On the first dive, we found a small sea lemon, some tiny nudis in the knotted thread hydroids, and a decent sized Dendronotus frondosus on some kelp out in the area called "The Chimneys". For dive #2, we explored the topography of the left side of the cove.
