Decided to give #Colemak a shot, and so far so good. Been messing around a bit on #monkeytype, and it's kinda painful to see my WPM go from ~150 to 15 on a good run, but you gotta start somewhere I guess.

Are there splt-/ergo-specific typing tutor websites? Or it's just a matter to play with QWERTY and any type of tutor website?

It's going slow but I've progressed from 15 to 25 wpm. Don't know when I will make the switch from qwerty.

At what speed did you switch to colemak primarily?

I'm running Wayland now, but it's not too easy to switch back and forth.

I just hate it when I accidentally switch it XD

I wanted to have something to play around with until I got a feel for whether or not I wanted to pursue it.

From very preliminary experience, I'd say it's a lot easier to learn than #Dvorak.

I'm trying to write a #bash script/function to convert qwerty-typed text into #colemak so I can play with it without actually converting.

It's working great, but won't pass newlines no matter what I try.

Any ideas?

Ha, I'm up to 16wpm on #Colemak now, with around 80% accuracy. Still very much a work in progress.

A few days ago switched to colemak-dh. Now using Type Fu and trying to go slowly. Currently on level 3 - still only using the home row

I started doing some daily colemak typing practice using https://www.keybr.com/ It’s going to take me some time before I can fully switch #colemak #splitkeyboard #crkbd

Since my ADHD mind is STILL hyper focused on alt keyboard layouts, I busted out my only set of #XDA keycaps to do a #Colemak layout.

I think it turned out pretty neat.

To all my peeps that use alternative keyboard layouts, can you switch easily between your layout and a standard Qwerty layout?

The learning curve is steep, but I'd say it's worth it ✌️

I decided to use the Easter holidays to switch to the Coleman-DH keyboard layout. After Day 2, I can do 20 WPM (my QWERTY speed is 70 WPM). Let’s see if I can get to a reasonable typing speed with it until Tuesday. #colemak #colemakdh #keyboard #typing
