Wood Avens in Winter.

A petal missing, another petal partly eaten! Just two flowers of this seen on 1.5 hours walk!

The other had only one petal!

Also called Herb Bennet and St Benedict's Herb. The old name meant "The Blessed Herb".

Probably a juvenile rusty gilled polypore (Conifer Mazegill) growing out of a knot on an old, varnished, outdoor, pine table in my garden in , NI.

If so, it is Gloeophyllum sepiarium which can grow on wood in lumber yards. "Brown rot".

My first here! 😊 Garden Vetch was all I could find. I cherish this plant as the bumbles love it, flowering most of the year.

Now 2 metres tall clambering up the dock seed-stalks.

About 5 degrees Centigrade here today!
