Following the rain yesterday afternoon and overnight our local big beach break at #Widemouth Sand in north #Cornwall has yet again received a red flag on the #SurfersAgainstSewage
#WaterQuality map:

However on the other side of the precipitation coin, perhaps #Colliford Reservoir has started filling up again and is now at least half full?
#EndSewagePollution in #Kernow!
Ending the #drought would be good too.

Episode 2 of our report from #Colliford Lake, #Cornwall's largest reservoir.
As @kasia_turajczyk disappeared into the distance I recorded a panorama from the "beach" exposed during last year's #drought. The reservoir is currently still less than half full:

The last time I tried uploading an MP4 video here things did not go well, but I'm trying again.

Yesterday we had a good look around #Colliford Lake, by far the largest reservoir in #Cornwall. Following last year's #drought it is currently still less than half full:

The last time I tried uploading an MP4 video here things did not go well, so this one arrives here from the #metaverse:

Our intro includes @kasia_turajczyk exploring the "beach" that would normally be well underwater at this time of year

The #birdsite is broken (again!) so the #fediverse has the honour of hosting the (almost) exclusive announcement that this morning we personally visited #Cornwall's largest #reservoir, cameras in hand:

At the beginning of March #Colliford Lake is currently less than 50% full and declining, revealing all sorts of eery evidence of earlier human habitation:
An inevitable #drought in store for #SWEngland in the summer of 2023?

The United Kingdom's National Drought Group met last week, and concluded that:
"Following the driest summer in nearly 30 years, experts are warning that another hot dry spell could see drought conditions return in 2023, despite winter rainfall replenishing most water levels."

However #Cornwall is still under a "hosepipe ban" and #Colliford Lake, the county's largest reservoir, is still less than half full.
