Currently reading #TheMagican by #ColmToibin. The subject of the novel is the German writer #ThomasMann and is in biographical form. The book makes me realise how thoroughly a person's upbringing and background fully informs their future life and thoughts. Even though Mann's ideology shifts through the course of the book, his basic Germanic soul remains strong. Excellent read, by the way. #literature #writers #German #books #reading

A nigeriana #ChimamandaNgoziAdichie estava na minha lista "a ler" há anos, desde que vi a sua inspirada TED talk (https://www.ted.com/talks/chimamanda_ngozi_adichie_the_danger_of_a_single_story), finalmente aconteceu e que leitura. #Americanah é um #livro espetacular, a estória de migração de uma jovem da #Nigéria para os EUA, eu gosto muito do género migração ("Emigrantes" de #FerreiradeCastro ou "Brooklyn" de #ColmTóibín são comparações que ocorrem), mas é também uma estória de emancipação e retorno. 5/5
