A different kind of #ColorWeek post. I present two handspun skeins. Both were made from the same raw, dyed fleece. The first was made from flicked blue and white locks. The second was made from the leftover wool, carded into rolags. #fiberuary #spinning

I knit a few dozen kids hats every year for a charity project one of my groups does. I use cheap acrylic yarn, whatever's on sale. If yarn is boring or ugly, I stripe it with other yarn. If I don't have enough left in a skein/cake for a whole hat, I grab the next skein, and knit the last of the previous one in in stripes. Any colors go together if the stripes are narrow!

Ok. #Fiberuary #colorweek time to join in with some oldies because I’m not starting anything until I conquer my fear of #sockknitting and time isn’t on my side for that just now. I’ll offer up three #crochet pieces I’m fond of - ripple afghan capris (with glitter stranded #yarn) for my brother, a gorgeous #Scheepjes shawl, and my queen sized blanket made during quarantine from the #Karoo #cal pattern as modeled by my kiddos.

#Fiberuary post 2: yesterday's finish!

These are the Glitz Mitts from Knit Happy with Self Striping Yarn. They use two different weights of yarn and in my case the grey is alpaca for extra warmth! I'm calling these my Pikmin mitts because I left the thumbd unclosed so I can play Pikmin Bloom while my dog reads his pee-mail on the late night walks.

Hatch climbed into my chair so I used him as a photo backdrop.

Die #fiberuary #colorweek bietet sich prima an um ein Projekt von vor ein paar Jahren zu zeigen. Daraus entstanden ist eine Mütze, die beidseitig getragen werden kann.
Die Anleitung heißt Wurm, passenderweise.

Weil ein Projekt niemals reicht hab ich gestern neben der Decke und dem Granny-Sweater noch einen zweiten Pullover angefangen. Alles schön bunt und somit passend zur #colorweek des #fiberuary.
Die unterschiedliche Haptik von Baumwolle, Acryl und Wolle macht die Sache noch befriedigender. Handarbeiten ist das Einzige, dass meinen Kopf über mehrere Stunden ruhigstellen kann.
