The Gallery of Modern Art building at 2 Columbus Circle was much-derided when it was new. It was later the New York Cultural Center and sat empty for most of the 1970s. In 2005 it was given a new façade and now houses the Museum of Arts and Design.

@richmintz Today in the rain they were not out at #ColumbusCircle where people were walking along #Broadway in #trafficLanes to avoid massive flooding.

@atthenius The water at #ColumbusCircle was very deep. I looked for #catchBasins but did not see any. I also wondered if they were clogged. It just may be a low area and #MayorAdams and #NYPD don't care about people. And #NewYorkers are resigned to being abused like this. People in a small town would not allow it. Mentioned this to spouse and she said it always happens.
