Certain #podcasts seem to go out of their way to sneak #commercials in at places that are hard to automatically skip. I think they're spending more energy trying to get me to listen to #ads than I have interest in hearing an NPR news roundup each morning. I'm a prolific unsubscriber. And no, I will not donate to public radio supported by advertisements.

And then they say: Well, we don't have a director either so ... just keep saying shit until we've got enough footage.

#Google has #YouTube. And Google #Search. And Google #Docs. And Google #Meet. And #Gmail. And about a thousand other sites and services.

If not using a Google-endorsed #browser means #losing #access to all of that, most people are not going to be able to make that choice. They're going to have to use #Chrome, and they'll have to put up with it shoving "#interstitial ads" (aka all-encompassing #TV #commercials in the middle of your attempt to use the service) and a million other ads.

Here’s a #petpeeve Those #commercials with #tomselleck hawking those damn #reverse #mortgages. They are NOT “loans like any other.” With a regular mortgage, you pay every month, the balance goes down, and so does the #interest accrual. If you don’t pay down your reverse mortgage (which many, if not most borrowers do not), the interest just keeps running. The balance gets so high there is no alternative but to sell the house in the end to repay it. #personalfinance #beware #aag
