Younger generations will never know that waaaay back when personal computing barely got started people would eagerly buy paper magazines every single month, which would include programs that we could code into our shiny new personal computers.
And if correctly typed in they would make your computer come alive with the wildest most amazing pieces of software people could think of.
And that's how we learned how to code in the Beginners All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code a.k.a BASIC.
Yes, we would spend countless hours transcribing code from a magazine to our computers to get them to do fun stuff.
