My New Year's resolution is 320x200
@thomasfuchs my first computer was a #Commodorer64. My parents bought it for our family in '82. When we originally got it we also got a datasette, a (Wico bat-handle) joystick, and a Radar Rat Race cartridge.
I'm not sure exactly when this photo was taken, but I'm guessing late '87 or very early '88. By this point I'd bought a #Commodore128 and 1571 floppy drive.
Super Star Trek, which I have converted from the original 1970s (80 column printer terminal) source code. Now for the #Commodorer64 with some sympathetic enhancements such as NAVigation and TORpedo helpers. It's not perfect, but getting there. Still deliberately terminal based!
So today I eventually found some time to patch my english GEOS 2.0 install to version 2.0r which enables support for the #NeoRAM expansion I purchased recently.
I set up a "RAM 1581" floppy disk drive and as you see in the video, can copy files to it. Nice, wish I had such a cool setup in 1987 ...
You can find the disks containing #NeoRam patched versions for GEOBOOT and CONFIGURE (to replace the ones of your otiginal 2.0 install) here, at the bottom of the page:

P.S.: I used my #uAX64MiniLong equipped with the neoRam expansion and an #SD2IEC drive along with an #EasyCap videograbber on my #Linux box to capture the video.

@richardtroupe "An Introduction to BASIC - Part 1" for the #Commodorer64 was my start in programming, many years ago. That looks like a near-mint copy!
Mine is considerably more worn. 😅
I just love the old type in books. So much nostalgia there.
