The challenge of the Spindle is the thread. It's way steeper than you can get off the shelf. It needs to turn ~120° and lower ~¼ to ⅜ inch.

I'm going to proceed on two fronts:
• Structural, from the outside in, with wood. Spring plans for a shed with woodshop, wherein I can do much of this myself.
• Mechanical, from the inside out, with steel. Seeking metal machinist to subcontract.

Meeting yesterday with The .918 Club in Lancaster PA (918club.org). Namedropped some members of my FB group (17th-18th Century Printers, Stationers, Engravers) they knew them all! A FB member posted pics of his successful build. I might start a YouTube channel chronicling my progress. Currently busy multiplying all dimensions by .75 for metalworker bidding.

Two excuses for not working on my #commonpress today:
1. I’m behind on my seasonal handmade gifts to a few dozen good friends.
2. Preparing for reenactment of Washington’s crossing rehearsal this Sunday. The crowd comes for it. Come see! (The official crossing is Christmas Day.) Will there be snow?

We visited New Holland, PA's Christmas Market at Garden Spot Village, a sprawling retirement community. I thought their wood shop would be like that of a high school. THIS PLACE WAS HUGE. Hundreds of benches, scores of power tools, implying dozens of men looking for interesting projects. I've got one for them!
We're meeting soon, so I can unroll the plans for my #commonpress and we can literally talk shop.

#TheGlassHouse is a collection of #Queer spaces in Shoreditch, #London including;
- #CommonCounter: a great #bar with amusingly named cocktails. Has a really nice vibe to it.
- #CommonPress: A #bookshop and café with a lot of queer #intersectional lit!
