This topic might come up for some attention soon in a short series of #meetcoop #commonshour. Under the rubric of federated infrastructure of digital means in the commons. Watch this space 😳. See this for now https://social.coop/@mike_hales/109931986056084344
#federation as an evolutionary move for #meetcoop?
There's a #commonshour presentation (in BigBlueButton of course - the only FLOSS meeting platform where you can do this kind of recording, animation and interactive playback). Here
https://bbb.de.meet.coop/playback/presentation/2.3/40d8061c1d67efe88481e8460e0bdc13ffe708b6-1677062902711
Come into our forum and help us explore this?

#federation #meetcoop #commonshour
#meetcoop is beginning an Evolution project, migrating BigBlueButton platform and multistakeholder membership to another coop host. For background and framework see

Check out the forum threads and do chip in?
Especially - if you have learning points for us from your User experience (or things you're curious to know) there's a learning & legacy dimension which may take over some aspects of #commonshour

Dance of infrastructure - Follow @danza at chirp.social.
Project to assemble a design language for infrastructures of digital means, in support of capability in movement organisations and coop-commons communities. This will be the content of #meetcoop #commonshour during 2023.
Current developments (design framework, participation, toolstack) are here in meet.coop forum: https://forum.meet.coop/t/welcome-to-the-dance-of-infrastructure-project/1241/5
Do jump in to these threads :)
@Graham_Mitchell @Wtebbens
#meetcoop and #commonshour exist. @danza has just been created but hasn't been really put to work yet (another month yet, perhaps). I've though about maybe creating @meetcoop as a group in chirp.social. but was waiting until I get a sense of whether that mechanism for groups under mastodon actually works effectively. @bhaugen has done some experimenting with limited available group machinery, dunno what his conclusions have been.

Great connection, thanks @tedcurran . I'll check out @jimgroom , specifically the post on community and scale

Launching this group *Danza della infrastruttura* - Dance of infrastructure - a project being carried out in #meetcoop #commonshour . We aim to develop a design approach for *digital infrastructure in the commons*, to serve movement organisations and organisations in the coop-commons/solidarity economy.
We adopt an approach of #designjustice and aim to address variations at regional & sectoral level, thro describing and using flexible design patterns.
Hoping to kick off January 2023.

> peer supported spaces for reflection and organizing
#meetcoop's upcoming #commonshour series aims to pull a focus on this in specific terms of digital spaces, in the context of European Social Forum contributory organisations
https://forum.meet.coop/t/welcome-to-the-dance-of-infrastructure-project/1241/
In that context my hunch is, yes, we might be able to mobilise the SE principles & practices. Having spent time with them now, they seem mature, wise & well spoken.
@Matt_Noyes
A project is announced in #meetcoop forum - a 'dance of infrastructure' project, to evolve a commons of digital infrastructure for movement organisations https://forum.meet.coop/t/welcome-to-the-dance-of-infrastructure-project/1241/
It'll be an extension of #commonshour thro 2023. Watch that space.

thanks for your tacit tip on #obsidian. i’ve been using joplin for some years for markdown notes and web clipping, but it looks like Obsidian will do the job MUCH better. and in some way, will complement #federatedWiki, which is absolutely a favourite medium.
How did i find this? you boosted my post on nathan schneider’s session in #meetcoop #commonshour thanks

Nathan Schneider : Commoners’ actions against digital colonialism - Openness and limitation in digital stacks

In #commonshour session#10 on September 26th, Nathan Schneider will open a discussion on Commoners’ actions against digital colonialism - Openness and limitation in digital stacks. Nathan will be talking about going beyond open source, and what he calls 'governable stacks'.
To underpin the discussion here’s a set of notes that links Nathan’s concerns to the practical organisation of #meetcoop as a #platformcoop

In the meet.coop forum I've just posted some notes for Nathan Schneider's upcoming #commonshour session
https://forum.meet.coop/t/going-beyond-open-source-in-a-radical-stack/1190
Nathan will be talking about going beyond open source, and what he calls 'governable stacks'.
Sections 5 and 6 of the notes suggest ways in which this commons of digital means aka meet.coop is not a typical coop. Find <FLOSS> to see references to open source and its differences from commoning a radical stack of digital means.
