3⃣While we don't know specifics of this case, #commotiocordis is rare but important to know about. Most frequently in teens hit in chest with a baseball, it's caused by an interruption in electrical activity of the heart at a very specific moment in the heartbeat.

If Commotio cordis- ? questions on recognition/rapid/quality of CPR and AED application. Pulse back but 'no breathing' very concerning. Research has been showing increasing rates of survival, thought to be due to rapid high quality CPR w/ AED. He should have had all that immediately. If CC- why refractory to Defib/AED? ?Anoxia re 'not breathing' post arrest (rosc). Wondering why refractory. Course could be something entirely different/ more trauma/neuro/spinal inj. etc.
