How long before we see institions and brands migrating from Twitter and setting up shop on alternative #SocialMedia platforms like Mastodon?

I feel it's time for a big shift in how and why brands use social, with more of an emphasis on engagement and dialogue through actors other than #MarComms / #PublicRelations teams. For this we need to see a move from KPIs and profit to more mission-based reasons for using social media that focus on building #SocialValue + nurturing #CommunitiesOfPractice.

How strange to be making an intro a diff. social media site! Me: EdDev at a Cdn uni, in a teaching/learning centre. Key focus on digital/writing pedagogies, with EDI and #Decolonization at their core. I'm a cis, white, queer settler & parent to 3.
