Thanks for sharing the article. I started the Tutor/Mentor Connection in Chicago in 1993. A major goal was point 2 in the #CommunityTech doc.

Researching the history of #CommunityTech I'm coming across advice from 2000 that really holds up.

On #MushroomMonday I want to give a shout out to @agaric , a tech cooperative that builds really cool #OpenSource #CommunityTech #NPTech tools for nonprofits, independent media, community groups and other do-gooders

They also fight politically for #TechJustice as members of @mayfirst and in other coalitions and alliances.

They're a great example of the newly introduced tendency #mycopunk

@FreeScholar was in a badass punk band back in the day and @mlncn defends encampments from police raids.

If you want a secure and easy to use note taking app that syncs across your devices I recommend Standard Notes.

I love it and their support person was super helpful and patient when I reported a bug (which she helped me fix!)

I see them as an exemplar when it comes to #OpenSource #Encryption #CommunityTech tools.

I love that a WordPress community collective formed to combat corporate interests

"WPCC aims to identify areas where the community is underrepresented or contribution is needed and fund Fellowships in those areas. The first fellowship they plan to fund is for an Accessibility contributor, who will dedicate 5-10 hours a week to work on the Make #WordPress #Accessibility Team and its existing accessibility initiatives."
