Tepary beans.

I discovered these from reading Sean Sherman’s “The Sioux Chef’s Indigenous Kitchen.” They are native to the South West and are extremely heat and drought tolerant.

Will be growing these in a dry bed with titan sunflowers as companion plants bc the backyard is a wind tunnel. At least the sunflowers will have been good pollinators during the summer if they get trashed by hurricanes in the fall.

So excited for last day of cold, I lined my beans and peas up for planting tomorrow. This is pea/bean planting round 2. Round 3 will be with different beans next month when the companion plants have grown up a bit.

Well, 107 of the 108 garlic cloves planted have appeared. At the very end of the bed just one is yet to come to life. Marked with a little brush in case I forget!!!

and we have moved the three type of kale from the growlight at home to the greenhouse too. It should be fine through the colder nights and we'll pot on in a couple of weeks 👍

@Mamalafafala Hello. I have one long bed of garlic which has 108 cloves that were planted October last year. If a few don't make it they will be replaced by the spares - as of this morning there are 91/108 showing 😎
