I don't think we'll open everything, but anything someone wants to try is fair game.

There's lots of food and desserts too. Our theme is Pie Box - the food is pie themed, and Compass Box.

Recent acquisitions, mostly from auctions.

I've really been focused on Glenmorangie and Compass Box, but there were a couple of lots of Hampden Estate Rum that were a good value that I couldn't pass up.

My last outstanding auction shipment arrived, the second part of the same auction. (Some shipped from the EU and got here a couple of weeks ago, this part came from the UK.) All together this is from one auction where I was very fortunate to win these lots.

The same week the Glenmorangie Pride 1974 (in the background) went up on a different auction, this auction listed the Glenmorangie Pride 1981.

Along with that was the Sonoma-Cutrer Reserve 25 Year and the Tuiga 25 Year, as well as a 30 Year old Malaga Finish. I also picked up the Boutique-y Whisky Company Glenmorangie bottling, and the Glenmorangie Collector's Guide.

For some non-Glenmo I also picked up Compass Box This Is Not A Festival Whisky and Duokle Angelams.

The carry case for the Pride is a little beaten up and stained, but that's fine. The actual display case is in good condition. I will say the 1974 display is a lot more impressive than the 1981.

@solipsistnation Blends are fine - I have a bottle of Campbeltown Loch myself, and Famous Grouse, etc. Heck, some of my favorite Scotches are blends - Compass Box has never done me wrong. I even hunt for their rarer stuff at auction. And they're exclusively blends.

If a store has Pappy Van Winkle, BTAC, etc. sitting on the shelf - and they didn't just put it there - it invariably means they're charging an asinine amount for them. Like 10x MSRP, or worse. In the community those stores get called 'museums' - a nice display to look at, but not to buy.

Thanks to my neighbor for letting me know there was a box for me sitting on the ground by our condo mailboxes. No thanks to DHL for leaving a box full of whiskey from a European auction there with no signature.

But it is safe now. The SMWS is 125.77.
