Composing solely on a DAW (digital audio workstation, must try and jargon bust) started as a 'no real alternative' way of 'getting stuff done'.
Didn't have a usable piano keyboard at first, so used the edit 'grid' and literally moused the notes in one by one. Over the years I got pretty good/quick at that and came to see that far from a disadvantage it had become my portal into truly releasing my potential as a 'composer'. 'Doing it in my head' freed me. Know what I mean anyone?

My dream is to compose music for film. To do that, I need some kind of equipment where I can match video, time codes and sequencer tracks. What would I need?
I used Cubase 2.0 on Atari in the 1990s. Since then, I have been away from the business of arranging and composing music apart from Musescore.

Look, Dad, I can walk!
A couple of years ago I tried to find a new way of composing music, "Philip Glass meets British progressive rock on jazz trio". I started with a basic harmonic and a rythmic pattern of 4+3/8. I added a simple melody and tried to keep it as simple as possible, yet interesting.

I've got a riff in 7/8 playing over and over again in my head. Would like to make something out of it with analog synthesizers, but I have neither knowledge nor equipment.
I have revised another old composition and added a new audio track. I really love the Ivy Audio Piano in 162!
