German of the day is "Vorberichterstattung", the word for pre-match reporting.
Again it's a compound of compounds:
- "Vor" is short for "Bevor" which means 'before'[^1],
- "Bericht|erstattung" ist compound of
- "Bericht" for 'report' and
- "Erstattung" for the act of delivering something, usually a report or a payment.

---
[^1]: "bevor" and "before" sound very similar

The German of the day is "Kampfmittelräumdienst", a very commonly used word in my area.
It is a compound noun made from *two* individually usable compound nouns!
"Kampfmittel" consists of the words for "Fight" and "Means", "Räumdienst" is "Removal" and "Service".

The German for today is „Daseinsvorsorge“, a word often used for „public services“ but it is built from the words for „Existential“ and „Precautions“ and includes a lot more collective commitment I think.
