No idea how it would go if you tried to introduce it in UK now. Guessing an uproar about authoritarianism, democracy etc

Until recently when #Halloween began to take off here in #Australia, there were very few non-religious festivals where neighbours would come together, share food and have a shared experience. Being a #CompulsoryVoting nation, our elections have become this sort of tradition. While recently I have been an early-voter, this year for the Victorian election, I have enjoyed the experience of voting on the day, getting a #DemocracySausage, supporting the local school's bake sale, and generally "celebrating" democracy with my neighbours. #VicVotes
