Most commenters do not realize that no “information processing” ( on symbol sequences) of any kind is necessary for an agent to have over their internal and surroundings.
Think of a or comparator such as in (Perceptual Control Theory).

On Computable Numbers (Unzurechnungsfähig)

2023 | ausgemusterte Texas Instruments TI-83 Plus Taschenrechner

I wrote up the How It Works section on my page about my computational poem "Ten Dust Tree", published earlier this year in Taper#10

I have found a nice application of the WolframAlpha website that might be used as a good promotion for making more visible that amazing answer engine developed by Wolfram Research.

We based our approach in the computation of the roots of two similar functions \(H_{2}(x)\) and \(H_{4}(x)\), but we decided to use the web site WolframAlpha for doing this mathematical computation and thus, these roots are easier to verify by everyone in the public or commercial versions.

Using this evidence, we showed that \(H_{2}(x) < 0\) and \(H_{4}(x) > 0\) for large enough real numbers \(x\). We proved that

\[\sum_{p_{k} \geq p_{n}} H_{4}(p_{k}) \leq 0\]

under the assumption that the Twin Prime Conjecture is false for a large enough \(n\)th prime number \(p_{n}\). However, this contradicts the results obtained by the web site WolframAlpha. Consequently, the Twin Prime Conjecture must be true.

Take into account that the following paper is accessible to a large audience of number theorists, including graduate students (check the references for WolframAlpha's results, please):

researchgate.net/publication/3

Is really WolframAlpha good enough?

: "Babbage didn’t invent the theories that shaped his engines, nor did Smith. They were prefigured on the plantation, developed first as technologies to control enslaved people. Issues alive in the present—like worker surveillance, workplace automation, and the computationally mediated restructuring of traditional employment as “gig work”—echo the way that computational thinking historically emerges as a mode of control during the “age of abolition,” in the early nineteenth century. Britain officially abolished West Indian slavery in 1833, and Babbage was very aware of the debate on abolition. He was also aware of the questions that were roiling the British elite as they sought alternatives to enslaved Black labor—particularly the question of how to control white industrial workers who persistently rebelled against industrialization, such that they could produce at the pace required to maintain the British empire. Both Babbage’s influential labor theories and his engines can be read as attempts to answer these questions—ones that, knowingly or not, rearticulated technologies of control developed on the plantation."

"In the age of AI, apparently, we can't wait for theory to come from discovery and experiment. We have to place our faith in the supremacy of computational over human intelligence - astoundingly even in the face of an ongoing theoretical mystery about how to imbue computers with flexible intelligence in the first place." in The Myth of Artificial Intelligence: Why Computers Can't Think the Way We Do, Eric J.
