Today I replaced my GigaByte 400W ATX power supply with an Antec 700W ATX power supply. The computer booted as though nothing had happened, and I sighed with relief.

@leo @jasonhowell @jeffjarvis This is where Newtek got its start. I remember one of our local TV stations bought two maxed out Amiga systems with Video Toasters. #Newtek #Amiga #VideoToaster #OldSchoolCool #computerchronicles

"In the Random Access file this week, Microsoft is reportedly set to introduce version 3.0 of Windows. The new version of the Windows interface is supposed to be easier to use, with improved memory management, better utilization of 386 architecture, and a new three-dimensional on-screen look. The official debut is slated for the third week in May."
Ok…I’ll admit that “sometimes” I watch old videos of the #ComputerChronicles” to relax after a long day of work. BUT! Look at who popped up on tonight’s episode!!!! Holy Moly! Robert Scoble and @MikeElgan , two of my fav tech guys! 👍🏻✌🏻🤘🏻😎😜
Petition: bring back Computer Chronicles, but have a no-hype/no-bs rule to filter out all of the startup grifters claiming "NFTs will revolution buying dog food" or "LLMs will replace dentists in 2025".

I used to watch the #ComputerChronicles on PBS as a kid. Even nerdier than that is my current occasional habit of looking up the guests of the show on LinkedIn to see what happened to them since then.

I feel like this episode title could double as the title of an "after dark" version of the show. lol

Computer Chronicles was one of those TV shows that I could never miss when I was a teenager. It aired on our local PBS station on Saturday mornings. One weekend I overslept and missed it. In a panic, I drove 2½ hours to my grandparents’ place, knowing that their PBS station aired it later in the day.

I have this strange habit of googling studio guests to check if they’re still alive while re-watching old episodes of #ComputerChronicles. Unfortunately most of them are long gone.
.. I should probably see someone about this one day. #confessions

One year ago on "Computer Chronicles Revisited," I looked at a 1985 episode on personal finance software. We start to see the first steps towards online banking and electronic filing of tax returns.
But my personal highlight is Jim Howard, who demonstrated his program "Tax Preparer." His company, HowardSoft, is still in business today and still updating "Tax Preparer'!
@smoliva if you’ve never seen the PBS show Computer Chronicles then you don’t know what you’re missing.
