- the programming language Rust
- how to create a LoRA for Stable Diffusion (Image AI)
- how to fine-tune a Text AI (with further training)

- NVidia CUDA is really annoying with it's version control and horrible with compatibility between versions
- (ana)conda and windows are hating each other
- Genshin Impact is a really beautiful and nice game!

C and I had a struggle getting D:OS2 to connect last night, which is annoying. We've been playing for over 200 hours & now it gives us connection problems? I tried both gaming computers with no luck. Then I restarted on my main one and it worked fine. We had a good battle with some stone statues, which are annoying because both my characters use lots of magic and they are immune to most of it. But we prevailed, saving the 3rd one for next week, as it was getting late. #computergames #videogames

My favorite Elder Scrolls game is, by far, Morrowind. I did a complete run through many years ago. I later found a crapload of mods that made the game look spectacular and decided to do another run through. I'd start a game, get so far, stop playing and never finish it and sometime later, start over again.I recently started game number 10. Will I complete it or will I go so far and stop? Ask me in a few months. Going good so far.

Morning Mastodonians!
We had an enjoyable evening of gaming last night. First up was a 3 player game of *Resident Evil 2 The Boardgame*, playing the intro scenario. For a game that is at its heart pretty simple, there sure are plenty of edge cases. Then we had an epically successful 4 player #videogame session of *World War Z*, where we finished off the Kamchatka episode on our first try, then went back to the dreaded gas station chapter of Jerusalem and beat it too. #computergames #boardgames

So I watched a video from Easy #Greek where they played #TearsOfTheKingdom and I noticed that the game itself was in English. Does that mean #NintendoSwitch games are literally only playable in (up to) the 16 system #languages? That covers a fair chunk of the world, sure, but still leaves billions of people unable to play in a native language. What do other systems do? What are the most multilingual #VideoGames or #ComputerGames? (I'm assuming #Minecraft is #1)

The 4 Guys Co-op played more World War Z and were, once again, stymied by the 2nd Kamchatka chapter. It probably didn't help I played a different class, as I was getting bored with my explosive expert and tried the Vanguard class, which has some kind of weird shield she can wield, so I began back at level 2. I think we got to the last battle a few times but never felt close to winning. Pretty tough. #computergames #videogames #fps

I'm currently playing #Level9 #interactiveFiction #textAdventure game Knight Orc from 1987. Which feels almost like a #MUD with many autonomous NPCs running around, fighting and grabbing treasure! And has some very unusual command shortcuts, as shown in the image of part of the manual. A very intriguing game. Which can get into unwindable states, like Melbourne House's The Hobbit. Set up #BloodBowl3 on the PC tonight, and learned how to #twitch stream.
Ran the campaign with a new #bloodbowl Dark Elf team (I never play elves, so figured my total lack of knowledge might give the AI a chance).
Streaming is strange. You keep talking, even though nobody’s watching, in case someone watches and you don’t notice. 😂
Won the game, but got in a mess by trying a pass on T2. Ah well, not those elves apparently.

And finally, while we're talking about #RetroFuturism and #ComputerGames: while I can't be sure of that, ship designs for the computer game #Fallout4 remind me a lot of Norman Bel Geddes' proposed design for a streamlined ocean liner from the 1930s.

I use #Pocket app to save #articles (web stories, news articles etc) to #read later. A year ago I had 7000 unread articles saved in Pocket, after being extremely ill for so long. Now I’ve nearly cleared my backlog. Only 2 unread articles in Pocket now. An #ArsTechnica history of #roguelike #ComputerGames. And an in depth look at #Infocom ’s Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy #InteractiveFiction #textadventure. Good articles to have saved to last! I hope to keep my future unread count fairly low.
