The 132/66/11kV #JujaRoadSubstation, built in 1950s plays key role in #Nairobi's electricity supply, serving half the metropolitan population of 9.4 million and 30% of GDP.
Modernisation by ABB in 2014-2018 with Finnish #ConcessionalCredit replaced old equipment with efficient #GasInsulatedSwitchgear (GIS). Capacity increased from 255 to 360 MVA, facilitating additional (renewable) electricity supply, and reduced #LoadShedding and outages by 90%.
