However, I don't think the designer of these carvings can ever have seen a real conch 'horn' as the angels are clearly blowing into the wrong end!

Another great bit of stonework from the front of the old British Linen Bank building in Govan. This is one of two angels (one on either side of the ship I posted a few days ago) shown blowing horns made from conch shells.
