@jaymckinsey We moved to #Seacliff about that time and I also remember we could walk onto the front half of the ship. I didn't know there was a sister ship, the SS Atlantus. I found a web site just now, on the concrete ships: https://www.concreteships.org/ships/ww1/atlantus/death.html.
I borrowed a couple of photos. The left photo is the Concrete ship SS Atlantus in 1926 and the right photo is the SS Atlantus in an apparently recent photo.

We went up along the coast to #SantaCruz today and explored a few places we hadn't been before. We went to #SeaCliffBeach and the #ConcreteShip. Then we went up to #CapitolaByTheSea for lunch. Then on to the #SantaCruzHarbor before ending up at #NaturalBridgesStateBeach for #sunset. The whole day felt like we were in #SoCal rather than on the #MontereyBay!
