@alexwitze @ScienceNews I'd like to see grid forming inverters and safe batteries installed everywhere (like NYC apartments) providing a distributed grid. Installing batteries in NYC apartments is the only way we will ever see and . will never beef up the grid. Buildings will never install new electrical cables.

These Con Ed energy reports continue to claim that I use more electricity than my neighbors. Really? Me? A guy who lives alone in a one bedroom apartment, who doesn't own a television, and who only has lights on in one room at a time? Granted, I am sometimes a night owl and stay up late to read. But my computer stuff can't be sucking up THAT much energy. I can only conclude that there are a lot of vacant units in my neighnorhood and that Con Ed is taking advantage of this class warfare as a pretext to raise our rates and shame us for "excessive" electricity usage. What the hell do they want us to do? Go back to reading by candlelight?
