@bobwyman #ConEdison supposedly has lower rate structures and I'll be asking how to get access to those. #LiFePo4 batteries are supposedly very safe. Would think it makes sense for a building to have them to load up on cheap energy and dole it out during peak times. Still half my electrical cost is delivery.

@bobwyman Only started looking at my #ConEdison 15 minute usage after starting to use a portable #induction cooktop but then began looking at other electrical uses in the apartment. I never thought of the #dishwasher as being an electrical hog but it is and I bet most don't think about it. Or about the #microwave. Might be an expensive bag of popcorn.

@mark_ohe @curt_nordgaard Started using #induction cooktop loaner. Hasn't affected electric bill so far. #SmartMeters installed by #ConEdison give usage in 15 minute intervals. So far, biggest electrical hog is a #dishwasher. Probably heating water using electrical coils.

Just wrote an email to my building about my current use of a portable #induction burner and viewing the #ConEdison usage report. The #dishwasher and #microwave likely use more power than the induction burner. BTW, using the burner has not changed my electrical bill (I had expected it to skyrocket. It didn't)
