@autiomaa Thanks. Do you think it's likely that Figma will support AR/VR in the future? I'm just wondering bc what inspired me to look into it more were talks about future user interfaces at #config2023 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJLTfArlnBg&ab_channel=Figma). AfterEffects is a great tip, tho! Thx!
If you missed me and Jory jabbering about #FontAwesome icons at #Config2023, the video is now available!
When GitHub increased transparency in its UX, it saw a 56% decrease in complaints and 23% improvement in customer conversion rates (from Figma's #Config2023) https://config.figma.com/video-on-demand/6329868719112
Legit impressed with Figma’s #Config2023 as a resource for good design methods, ideas and inspiration. I was expecting promotional crap, and there is some of that, but this would have been worth the in-person ticket price
On that note SF, it’s been lovely visiting. Thanks to #Config2023 for the excuse. Alongside this dude I’m riding BART toward SFO for a flight home tonight. Enjoy #SFPRIDE2023
Me, after #Config2023: Phew! Enough of that design nonsense. Time to play video games and be a sloth.
Apple: Here’s the #visionOS SDK.
The recording of my talk "Fonts Are Software" at #config2023 is now available:
Variables (tokens), really powerful prototyping, and dev mode announcements at #Config2023 finally answers the question: “should designers code?” with a resounding “yes.”
Congrats to the team at #Figma cuz these features look super amazing.
My Figma #config2023 releases fav list:
1. Auto-layout wrap. This gets us close to finally full responsive components. Let’s get rid of lots of variants and pointless wrapper frames.
2. Variables. Super cool to quickly build dark modes or tinted interfaces like Material 3.
3. Text truncation based on lines (think line-clamp) instead of fixed height.
👍Good:
Variables!
Dev Mode!
Common area seating
Slack session
Event graphics
Swag bag
Coffee
👎Bad:
Lines
Lines for merch
Lines for sessions
Lines for escalators
Lines for coffee
Tips n tricks session starting with features no one has used yet
Extending main keynote with boring fireside
🙈WTF:
Having 80% of the sessions two floors away from keynote
