Tonight’s #genealogy project was the #translation of the #death record of Antonina Załęska, who was the SIL of my grandaunt by marriage. I downloaded the record from #Geneteka #poland. It was written in pre-revolutionary #russian. Like most #ancestors from that side of my #family she was born and spent her whole life in Ciechanów, north of #Warsaw in modern #Masovian #Voivodeship. The translation is in the alt-text. #geneadons #Ancestry #familyhistory #CongressPoland

Sometimes it pays to #read. I had a #birth record for “Marcel” Miliwodzki, b. Jan 1858. Then the trail ran cold. Upon reading the #parish journal entry, I learned the child’s name was ANTONI Marcel Miliwodzki. This small fact was overlooked in the #Geneteka #Poland database. So the full record for Antoni is Jan 1858 - Feb 1860, #Ciechanów then in the #Płock Governorate of #CongressPoland. Good to know for the #future. #Genealogy #geneadons #Ancestry #familyhistory

The latest from my #Genealogy #research: Ludwika Gałązka born Jun 1860 in Lipowczyce in what was then the #Warsaw Governorate of #CongressPoland. She married Stanisław Cichocki in Warsaw in Jan 1882–they had 2 boys and 4 girls. In 1906, she married my first #cousin twice removed, also in Warsaw. I found no record of children from that marriage, nor did I find a death record or any evidence that she emigrated. It’s unlikely she’s still alive. #geneadons #familyhistory #Ancestry

It’s still early evening here in metro #nyc but I’ve already completed initial #research on a first #cousin twice removed, Jan Czarnecki (5 May-13 Aug 1882). He was born and died in #Ciechanów, then in the #Płock Governorate of #CongressPoland in the #russianempire (today in Ciechanów County in the #Masovian #Voivodeship ). The records were beautifully written in #russian script, making for easy reading. It appears as though my #greatgrandfather reported Jan’s death to the registrar.
