Speaking of #conlanging, I just learnt the #LCC10 will happen this weekend! I’m very excited about it, unfortunately I won’t be able to follow it live. I will definitively watch it later though!

I’m especially excited for these talks:
- “The Semitic Influence on Conlangs” by Dominique Stephan Bobeck
- “Grammatical Tonology for Conlangers: Tonogenesis, Tone Rules, and More” by Gabriel Swai
- “Creativity & Constraint: Conlanging Beyond the IPA” by Logan Kearsley
- and “Paratextual Fictional Languages for Characterisation and World-Building” by Israel A. C. Noletto

I’m currently in the planning phase of a new website which hopefully should join the #Fediverse. I intend to make it especially Mastodon-compatible, though most of its features will stay on the service itself; because its primary use-case won’t be that of a social media.

I’m not saying much more right now, I don’t want to set too high of expectations when I haven’t even written a single line of code, but the document describing this new service is going along nicely.

Just as a tip on what it will be about: I hope #conlangers will find it useful for their #conlangs, because I sure will!

Finally trying to get back into my #streaming!

I'm liking the bits of grammar happening for Merchant Pidgin. it's not a lot since it's basically modified English, but it's starting to look and sound nice

Idea for #fantasy world magic system: saying things in a specific (grammatical) mood makes them real.
This could be how it was in the distant past, but as magic faded away, this mood became an optative.

a thing I enjoy greatly about Merchant Pidgin (the international trade language in my scifi stories) is that it reads like horrendously old-fashioned English with a side of Thieves' Cant

at the same time I'm very much aware that's gonna turn quite a few readers off, bc it's the most commonly spoken language and I write a lot of dialogue in Merchant :blob_cat_innocent:​

which, for a while, made me question if that was the best idea, but let's face it, I got no plans to make a living of these stories

found the IPA reader I apparently already had bookmarked and then forgot about, and my alien language seems to sound like I want it to (using the German voice bc that's an accent I'm used and that seems to lend itself best to this conlang as they got similar sounds)

I really need to plan out what words I want to make because apparently if I don't I make words at 3am and am unsure if they're well-made.

Anyway today's word is:
Space ship - Enjakh ojoolos /eɲakʰ ɔʝo:lɔs/ or just "ojoolos"

Enjakh means vessel and I think ojoolos roughly means "a thing that rises". So, a rising vessel. I think.

Figure I need this for a #StarTrek #conlang, lol! #Ficlang #conlanging
