• distinguish between being polite and raising hard issues;
• don’t require those who raise hard issues to raise them in ‘acceptable’ ways, especially if you are using the ways in which #issues are raised as an excuse not to address them;

Went to a gig last night & got chatting to a guy aged 80. He lost his same-sex partner couple of years ago, after 46 yrs together. He runs a local film club, is involved in a rock'n roll group, has a lodger, goes to music & spoken word events & chats openly to idiot strangers like me.
It brought home the importance of #community, #StayingCurious & #connecting with others as we age.

Had enough chuff today to have lunch with family friends - you know, the kind of people who have known you so long they feel like family.

I had forgotten, in the fog of survival, and the social isolation that just becomes the norm, how much it matters to be around the kind of people who help you remember who you are.

And just love the hell out of you.
