The reasonable claim that one does not want to kill people, even if ordered by the state, is not accepted in either #Russia or #Ukraine. Both countries have a legal right to #conscientiousObjection to military service. Both are signatories to the UN Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. Is there any voice from the so-called "international community" condemning this serious violation of #humanRights?

Just watched great webinar hosted by #FCNL that was a discussion with Lenore Yarger of Quaker House and Joe Volk (former FCNL) about #ConscientiousObjection. Nuanced and well-rounded discussion.

One takeaway I appreciated from Lenore was that "We have to be careful not to tell Ukrainians how to respond in their situation. What we are really doing when we do that is asking ourselves 'How would I respond in that situation?'"
