After #BFT research of the 80s and #Satoshi during first decade of 2000, we are the third generation, we need to build a stronger #decentralized #consensus, characterized by better #engagement #incentives: to create a market inducing balanced relationship with power centers, avoiding both underground mawkishness and easy money by the incumbents. And it’s not only matter of #cryptocurrencies (every words I have just written don’t solely apply to cryptocurrencies context) but about the kind of freedom and democracy we want for the future. Media #manipulators constantly hunt for unexplained anomalies they can leverage for furthering their self-serving narratives.

This works because our brains do not deal well with #uncertainty; we tend to overfit unexplained datapoints into stories offered by others.

However, anomalies (fake or real) are just exceptional #anecdotes and almost always irrelevant to a #scientific #consensus on a topic.

On today's episode of Right-wing Science, a meteorologist (weather man) who rejects the entirety of the scientific #consensus on #climate, went on Steve #Bannon's show to rail against the #science of #climateChange, and offer up "alternative facts" to support his pet #theory. Of course Bannon immediately bought into his explanation, as did The Blaze, which presented his nonsense as legitimate fact. In their world, truth is whatever is politically expedient.
