The saga of the Interton VC4000 is over. A client mailed 4 of these consoles to me to mod for use with normal power supplies and composite output, and I can confidently say I know more about the Signetics chipset than I ever thought I would

Another Atari 2600 saved from the bin. This one had a bad 6507, which was a bit difficult to suss out immediately, since the console was behaving very similarly to how it does when there isn't a cart inserted.
But it wasn't the cart slot, and luckily, I had a spare 6507 on hand! I also gave the machine a composite video mod; the RF on this poor thing had degenerated to a sorry state.

how to make an NES region free.

Step 1. Open the NES.

Step 2. Locate the CIC Lockout chip.

Step 3. Remove Pin 4 on the chip with a small screwdriver.

Done. You can now play region locked games and homebrew.
