Does it mean I am prone to conspiracy theories if I doubt 'opinion' of the rechargeable battery charger, made by the battery manufacturer, telling me the rechargeable batteries I have just loaded are bad?

Even when I get a second manufacturer's charger to confirm the opinion of the first one? Is there a brand lock-in concept on rechargeable batteries?
