#ConstituencyTuesday we are looking at boroughs in the county of Cork! Cork was referred to as 'the Yorkshire of Ireland' due to its size, resources and wealth. Yet, in 1832 Cork returned only 8 MPs compared to Yorkshire's 37.
Under the Irish Reform Act of 1832, County Cork and Cork city elected 2 MPs each and the county had four single-member boroughs. Youghal, Bandon, Kinsale and Mallow caused some contestation due to their low populations and electorate.
