Professionally, I'm a #maths #teacher and #museum #learning #consultant with a broad interest in #STEM, #digital tools and #history, with a particular focus on their use in and relevance to maths education. I believe that #museums and other #heritage organisations have a mostly untapped opportunity - and, arguably, an unrealised responsibility - to help erode the British national pastime of maths negativity by drawing more explicit attention to the #mathematical themes that run through their #stories, #objects & #exhibitions. Open to projects (preferably funded as my mortgage provider doesn't take payments in kind).

Academically, my BSc was in Mathematics with Astronomy and I have completed a PgCert (Digital Literacy) and an MA (#Education). My research interests are mostly around some intersection of maths education and museum learning with a smattering of digital skills (see https://tkbriggs.co.uk/about-2/ for titles of assignments completed, and https://orcid.org/0009-0008-4910-5467 for published work). I want to do a PhD but I need to settle on a project & then work out how to fund it.

1. Study time: We can use the solution X or Y, sometimes even Z to solve problem A.
2. Real life: We use a hack to use half of X, a part of Y and add the difference from Z as a workaround*.
* For the unitiated: Workaround is a business term and is at least 5 years long. Often forever.
