If you're travelling on public transport (#train, #tram, #bus) in the #Netherlands, you can now tap in and out with contactless debit/credit cards, mobiles & smart watches. It saves having to carry or top up an OV-chipkaart. I used my Apple watch recently on trams and trains. More secure than pulling out a wallet in a busy station. #Lisbon #metro just rolled out the ability to ride by tapping a #contactless Visa card at the turnstile. You can still use all of the existing cards too but this is pretty cool.

So #Belfius now supports Google Pay/Google Wallet and has removed #NFC support from its own app. I guess this means that we cannot do #contactless payments in shops which only support #Bancontact and don't support credit cards (I think this is the case in #Colruyt and probably also your local bakery), which used to be possible with the Belfius app. #googlepay #googlewallet #contactlesspayment

I am to the point in my life where if I am still expected to even insert my card into a card reader or a gas pump, I just don’t do business there.  Pay and tap all the way. No more of the chip card stuff.

As someone who has had their cards hacked twice due to an online purchase without  Pay (it was an Amazon one) and one where my chip card got skimmed at a Walmart years ago, I will say that  Pay has pretty much solved my card hacking and security issues.

It’s been sort of a 5+ year project, but it does prove my point. #ApplePay #Contactless
