@patrickcmiller I tend to shy away from #containerized images for sensitive #Production services (Financial etc) that don't have to #scale up/down too quickly. Great for segregated Dev/Test/UAT etc. environments, but *still* not quite as #secure as good ol' #VMs/Bare metal. Of course, any deployment can have flaws...

Over where I work, the dev model is moving from a shared #dev server to #containerized #docker instances in #redhat.
Q: how to ease the learning curve?

I'm considering going through the work to standup my own #Mastodon instance. Now that #Trump is back on #Twitter there might be even more need to handle the continued #TwitterMigration.

Any recommended resources outside of the standard documentation? I'm planning to go with a mostly #containerized setup on #MicrosoftAzure with #postgresql and object storage handled directly in #Azure (i.e. outside of #containers).

@Charadon For something like a workstation, do you need a LTS release any more?

I would think #containerized development or other #virtualization could keep your tool chains and critical environments stable and at arms length from whatever OS you happen to use underneath, at least for most use-cases I can imagine.

Been wanting to slim down my typical #xubuntu install. Maybe going with a minimal one with #containerized desktop apps (#flatpak , #snap , #appimage , and some #distrobox upon occasion).

However, I am not sure what minimal options there are for Xubu these days. Sounds like some options are not supported? Additionally, I have way to many #ppa s. Gotta really think about this.
