Sweet memories
This is me in 1993 (IIRC) in the #Dashalan, #Beijing - the old city, which is long gone.
I remember that I was waiting for some candied sea #buckthorn (Sanddorn in DE). It was delicious!
Notice my two cameras. #Contax RTS + RTS II. 35mm + 85 mm probably.
BTW:The jacket still exists. I use it sometimes outside on our ground when it rains.
The #film of my friend, who took this shot, did not age too well.

The lenses were not very good at the edges of the field but for war use that didn't matter, and by the time anyone noticed the Japanese had reverse engineered lenses they'd acquired and were doing much better. Ein Zufallsfund beim Vorbeiradeln: Wer in #Dresden ist und sich für #Fotografie und Film interessiert, sollte sich die Technischen Sammlungen Dresden anschauen. Dort kann man die #Contax S und ihre Nachbauten die Kiev und die #Nikon (ja, Nikon) bewundern. Diese Kamera war damals neben #Leica Weltmarktführer. Le pancake 45mm est une vraie merveille de compacité, je vais tâcher de sorti avec ce week-end pour jouer avec.

Minsk Market
There's a lot of talk about Belarus nowadays. I've been there many years ago, in the early 90ies, accompanying the former prime ministerof my state, Johannes Rau.
One of my shots is this one from a market hall in Minsk, the capital. These people were incredibly friendly and hospitable.
