Hey #Mastodon, I am new here. Have been watching, reading, commenting and posting a bit for two weeks or so, now.

What I see is a social "platform" that is unlike the monolithic you-are-the-product platforms, and that is interesting to experience. More quality content.

But also more #ContentCuration, i.e. following of people and hashtags is needed.

And interesting: a lot of the basic concepts necessary here are also applicable to #Yammer in my work context.

There are tools here to mute certain content and certain accounts - don’t be afraid to curate the content you see here to suit your preferences.

Muting and blocking accounts, for example, is something I’m very happy to see. 🔕

You can also “take a break” and select a predetermined timeframe to mute accounts, if you’d like to automatically bring someone back after a shorter than “for-ever” time. 🔇 #contentcuration #mute #block

It's quite a thing over on the birdsite ...
