Continued adventures in #rockymountainnationalpark driving the Trail Ridge Road with elevations topping out at 12,183 feet above sea level. Got a bit light headed and labored breathing at that altitude. Beautiful vistas, plenty of pull-outs, stark alpine tundra landscape above the tree line. Crossed the #ContinentalDivide and saw the Colorado River near its source.

The Columbia Icefield drains to the Arctic Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, and Pacific Ocean. Meltwater flows 2,500 miles via the Athabasca River and Mackenzie River  into the Arctic Ocean, via the Saskatchewan River 1,600 miles to Hudson Bay and the Atlantic, and 1,240 miles via the Fraser and Columbia rivers to the Pacific Ocean.

Sipping my coffee earlier this morning, I could not take my eyes off the sunrise glow on the #ContinentalDivide of #Colorado outside my window. My little mountain town is quickly #gentrifying, for better and worse. But the mountains remain the same.
