Sticking with #hardbop & #NowSpinning #Cookin’ with the #MilesDavis Quintet, another fantastic repress of the #Prestige series by #AnalogueProductions. #Relaxin’ remains my favourite of this run of early Miles, but some of the playing here is smoking. The line up is, once again, incredible, the set list nigh on perfect, with that irresistible swing that just makes you want to get up and dance.
It’s yet another #KevinGray cut & is perfect.

This is from #OJC, likely cut from digital, but it really does sound good, particularly for the money. Despite the light weight card, the reproduction of that iconic sleeve is on point.

My holiday #cookin project is dry brining a bone in prime rib roast (4.5 lbs). I bought and froze it before Thanksgiving after rubbing it down with kosher and smoked salts, black, white and Sichuan pepper, thyme, smoked paprika, and horseradish powder to let that all slowly penetrate in the freezer. Now it is thawing in a vented container in the back of the refrigerator for three days to cure and lose water, intensifying the flavor.
